West Coast Art is jewellery that Bija Bijoux stocks and special orders.  It is  hand carved by Canadian West Coast jewelry artists, using sterling silver and/or gold.

This jewellery art form is truly unique to Canadian indigenous artisans.  The carvers begin with a long stretch of precious metal and they carve their design onto it.  Once the pattern is finished, they curve it into the shape of a ring, or a bangle, and solder it closed.  These carvings often tell a story of the totem spirit and are said to bring the spirit of that animal to the wearer.
